SCORM
The acronym SCORM – Shareable Content Object Reference Model (content sharing by using a defined data model) – refers to a way of developing the operability between an LMS (Learning Management System) and the content of an online course. The primary goal of adopting these technical standards is to create a system that will work well with other systems.
The different versions of SCORM all manage the same two things: packaging content and exchanging data. Packaging content determines how a piece of content should be delivered in a physical sense while run-time communication, or data exchange, specifies how the content exchanges information with the LMS while the content is actually playing.
